Ron Echols, Chief of Police

SpeakerBio

Mr. Ron Echols began his career with the City of Missouri City as a police
officer in 1980. He promoted through the ranks of the department to be
appointed as the Chief of Police in the summer of 2003. Mr. Echols is
certified in the state of Texas as a Master Peace Officer. He is a graduate of
the 193rd Session of the FBI National Academy and 49th Session of the FBI Law
Enforcement Executive Development program. He is currently active in the FBI
National Academy Associates of Texas. He is past president of the Houston Area
Police Chiefs Association and currently serves on the association's executive board.
He is also the Region 14 Director for the Texas Police Chiefs Association.

Mr. Echols serves as an advisory committee member for the Law Enforcement
Management Institute of Texas New Chief Development and Police Chief Leadership
Series. He is an associate member of the International Association of Chiefs of
Police and of the Texas Police Association. He sits on the advisory council for
the Child Advocates of Fort Bend and is an active Rotarian with the Oyster Creek
Rotary Club.

Mr. Echols is married to Tonya and resides in Missouri City They have two children -
Danielle, a registered nurse at the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at Texas Woman's
Hospital in House, and Brennan, a police officer with the City of Sugar Land.
